  Arthur R. Baluyut, M.D., Ph.D received his medical degree from the Indiana School of Medicine and his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and GI Fellowship at the Indiana University Medical Center. He joined the Northside Gastroenterology practice in 2000.

  Lawrence J. Born, M.D.
 
 

Lawrence J. Born, M.D, F.A.C.P, is an active staff member in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at St. Vincent Hospital and Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He has performed over 10, 000 endoscopies. Dr. Born received his medical degree from Indiana University and trained in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Liver Study Unit in Omaha. Prior to his current position, he was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine.

 

Dr. Born is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology, and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. His research interests have ranged from the ubiquitin proteolytic system to endoscopy and colorectal cancer, authoring numerous scientific manuscripts and abstracts. Dr. Born has been funded in the past by the National Institutes of Health and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has served on several university and hospital committees. On a personal level, Dr. Born has been involved from the beginning in the Nobel Peace Prize nominated partnership between Moi University and Indiana University for the care of patients in Kenya. He set up an endoscopy suite and also initiated an anti-malaria program that is distributing 40,000 bed nets in west Kenya. Also, Dr. Born has coached numerous city and state champion runners and is a recent USA Track and Field Indiana Masters Champion.

  Dr. Fyeza S. Haider, M.D.
 
 

Dr. Fyeza Haider obtained her medical degree from Army Medical College, Pakistan graduating summa cum laude. She completed her Internal Medicine Program at Mount Sinai Medical Center-Englewood Hospital New Jersey in 2004. In 2009, Dr. Haider joined the Gastroenterology fellowship program at Geisinger Medical Center from where she graduated in 2012. Prior to joining Northside Gastroenterology in 2013 she worked for a year in Anderson, Indiana.  Dr. Haider has multiple award publications and national presentations both in the fields of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

  Dr. Daryl F. Daugherty
 
 

Daryl F. Daugherty, M.D., received his medical degree from The Ohio State University School of Medicine. He finished his Internal Medicine training at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. He also trained at the National Institutes of Health and the University of Michigan before becoming an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan. He joined Northside Gastroenterology in 1991.

Mark J. Lybik, M.D., received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Minnesota and his GI Fellowship at Wayne State University. He was voted one of the Top Doctors in Gastroenterology by the Indianapolis Monthly Magazine in 2003, 2005, and 2008. He was also listed in the Guide to America's Top Physicians in 2008. Dr. Lybik has been with the practice since 1998.

Mark D. Scheidler, M.D., received his medical degree from The Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Northwestern University and his GI Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Dr. Scheidler has been with the practice since 2003. He was recognized in the U.S. News and World Report as one of the top Gastroenterologists in the Nation in 2012. He was also named as one of the “Top Doctors” in Gastroenterology by The Indianapolis Monthly Magazine in 2013.

Taiseer J. Shatara, M.D., received his medical degree from the Universidad Central del Este Dominican Republic. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and his GI Fellowship at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. He also received a Geriatrics Fellowship from the University of Missouri School of Medicine. He has served on several hospital committees. He is fluent in four languages - English, Arabic, Spanish and Portuguese. He was voted one of the Top Doctors in Gastroenterology by Indianapolis Monthly magazine in 2008. Dr. Shatara has been with the practice since 1999.

Spencer A. Wilson, M.D., received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He served as chief resident after completing his internal medicine residency and was the chief fellow during his gastroenterology fellowship, each at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. Dr. Wilson joined Northside Gastroenterology in July, 2009.
